The DAN2200 SoC Silicon Platform

 DesignArt’s DAN2200 SoC is an open silicon platform specifically targeted for WiMAX femtocell and repeater designs, optimized for low-cost, yet high performance indoor access point applications. The DAN2200 product features the highest level of functional integration in a single-chip architecture, integrating a complete PHY and MAC baseband solution with embedded management, control plane, networking and home gateway application processing.

 The highly integrated DAN2200 SoC architecture provides full SW flexibility, while drastically reducing the femtocell component count, making it the lowest cost femtocell design architecture on the market.

Lowest-cost Femtocell Designs

 Integrating a complete baseband PHY and MAC, network processing unit, DSP core, control CPUs, several encryption cores, and a network sync module on a single chip, the DAN2200 SoC is by far the most integrated femtocell chip on the market. This highly integrated SoC design eliminates the need of costly adjunct processors or components and minimizes external memory size and cost, making it the lowest BOM count femtocell design architecture on the market.

Femtocells for Residents, Small Business and Hotspots

 The DAN2200 SoC is based on DesignArt's powerful multi-core architecture, enabling exceptional femtocell base station performance - supporting 2x2 MIMO in downlink and uplink, 40Mbps downlink throughput, maximum rate packet processing, even with 64 byte VoIP packets, and the support of up to 25 simultaneously active sessions with full SLA and QoS support. This makes the DAN2200 an optimal solution for all indoor Femtocell applications - residential, small business and hotspot.

DesignArt Cluster Operation and Management Capabilities (SON)

 We are the cluster experts - whether for Metrozones (Picocells, with self-backhaul) or for standard Femtocell cluster operation. The DAN2200 comes with DesignArt's embedded and patented HW and SW toolkit to optimize and automate the installation, diagnostics and fine-tuned operation of dynamic WiMAX base station clusters - including neighborhood scan, interference detection and cancellation, automated radio and link control mechanisms, over-the-air (OTA) network synchronization, inter-cluster control plane, and many other optional capabilities. Some call it self-organized networks (SON) - we are offering many more capabilities, not captured in current 3G SON requirements.

Flexible and extensible open SW Platform Architecture

 With multiple embedded processor cores, the DAN2200 offers spare networking and control processing power (> 500MIPS), enabling the cost effective integration of optional home gateway applications, eliminating the need for a host processor.

 The DAN2200 SoC is bundled with DesignArt’s comprehensive SW packs, including standards compliant 802.16e PHY and MAC. System vendors can optionally use these SW modules, or add differentiating software applications on any layer. In any case, DAN2200 SoC SW packs easily integrate with 3rd party software applications by means of a well-defined structured API.
